First of all Happy Birthday Ruth.

John and Holly in their grand house.
Yesterday we went to dinner at some people we met, one is a client of Trish’s. The house was amazing and beautiful with 18 foot ceilings and about 300 years old. I’m not sure if this one has them but a number of the houses have or had tunnels that were large enough for a horse to ride through. At some point in Mexico, the Catholic church was illegal and for people to go to church they would travel through the tunnels.
The people we went to dinner with were Holly and John and they have been coming to Mexico for many years.

A road that looks like it should go somewhere.
This morning started very early, 6 am the workers next door decided that they had to pour concrete. Finally we couldn’t stand it any more and got up as the other workers were here at the house to put in an iron door. When we left tonight at 6 pm they were still working, hammering out stone to put this door in. The whole day was this way.
Dinner at Sarah and Ed’s and a salsa lesson with Nestor before going to Bambera, a small club near where we live where a band plays Cuban music from 9 to 11 PM and people go to dance.

Nestor and Allison
The dance floor is in the round and everyone dances and it great fun. We finally left shortly after 11 though Trish and John had to do a bit of Rock around the Clock which is what played after the band packed up to go to play at another club. The band was great, congas, electric piano and trombone.

Tomorrow we leave early to go to Paracho and will stay overnight and come back late Sunday. We’re going with Bill to visit this town of guitar makers and to see the guy who made Bill’s guitar. I’ll be writing about the trip which consists of four buses to get there. So stay tuned and check in shortly.
